In order to maintain the functional properties of the garment in the best possible condition, it must be treated correctly. Therefore, read carefully the maintenance labels printed or sewn on the product and always carry out maintenance in accordance with these symbols.
Wash the products in the washing machine on the gentle programme.
Do not use fabric softener.
Wash the garment inside out and pay attention to zips, plastic appliqués, etc., which can cause tears in finer knits.
How to prevent mechanical damage to functional underwear
The fibres we use for functional underwear (especially staple fibres) are very fine. They give the product its unique properties. However, this may be at the expense of its mechanical abrasion resistance. Shear yarns provide the functional properties of the fabric or knitted fabric. The yarn wicks away moisture and also serves as thermal insulation. To achieve warmth, the fibres in the yarn are less twisted and thus have a greater tendency to wrinkle.
To avoid damage to functional underwear, it is essential to follow the principles of appropriate handling. If you wear a backpack directly on top of the linen or subject it to similar mechanical stress, the linen may wrinkle. This is not a functional defect but only an aesthetic defect. It is therefore recommended to avoid direct contact with coarser structures (e.g. backpack, carpets, jacket linings, careless washing, Velcro, etc.).
*The above information is not brand specific, but applies to quality functional underwear in general.
